So when I first played Wayhaven I was like 'Why are there stats if they don't change much?' then I replayed Lost Heir and nearly pulled my hair out trying to get the hero ending while playing BECAUSE the stats are so important and lord help you if you improperly specced. So I went back to playing Wayhaven and was like 'Yeah, actually, this is a pretty good system' tl:dr I forgot just how stressful stats can be and I genuinely enjoy having games where I don't have to stress about them.

I think stats suit some games perfectly, and a lot of creators implement them in really clever ways!

But Wayhaven will definitely be more of a choice-based story, rather than a stat based game. Mainly because I want people to be able to enjoy it, as you say, rather than number or point watching! :D I definitely want readers to roleplay and immerse themselves in the story and look at choices as choices rather than as just point adding or raising numbers.

Obviously, the stats still have an effect, mainly on how the scenes go when it comes to a stat check, but your choices will have more impact than the stats most of the time (even if the result of those choices might not seem obvious at the moment, there seven books after all… :D). I also understand that doesn’t suit everyone, obviously, and that’s fine too! But it’s how I always wanted Wayhaven to be.

So yeah, you have no idea how happy it makes me to know people are enjoying the system and how it’s working in-game! I definitely just want people to relax and enjoy it and play it how they want to :)

Thank you so much for the encouraging message! :)
